I have more junk you can look into, such as Knog bags, they double as handlebar bags/panniers, and backpac/messangerbag. very awesome idea. I clip my on my handles, and carry it anywhere else. (they also have fancy bright head/taillights, as well as wireless computers)

I also went all out and got some dromarti cycling shoes, because they are classy and awesome, and comfortable.

for reading material, try Urban Velo (.com if you diddn't assume), or from my neck of the woods:Cog Magazine.

@Colin: I'd forgotten that you ride to work! Thanks for the tips, I'll definitely use them. The app is a great idea. I'll certainly use it when I go to work on Tuesday. Much cheaper (free) and actually way nicer. I'll probably do the disassemble this weekend at some point. I would have done it last night but Catherine came by for dinner so I didn't get the chance. Thanks again amigo!

Congratulations! Welcome to the club.

It sounds like you're pretty set for now. I have two suggestions. First, if you haven't done so already, using only the tools you carry with you tear down both tires and put them back together. That way you know you're going to be able to do it on the side of the road and you're not thinking "dang I wish I had [insert missing tool here]".

My second suggestion is for once it starts getting colder. Once you start wearing pants get some pants straps (I couldn't find exactly what I was taking about but kinda like these http://www.amazon.com/Yellow-Racer-Reflective-Bands-sold/dp/B000N8QS5K). It helps keep your pants out of your chain and away from the grease, plus it makes you that much more noticeable (because they're reflective). You'll probably also want something like this http://www.amazon.com/Seirus-Innovation-Neofleece-Combo-Black/dp/B0018BJSQC once it gets cold, because when you're breathing hard cold air hurts. :(
